Our Practice

Physio-led care, built around your recovery.

East Coast Orthopaedic Physiotherapy — ECO Physio — is a specialist physiotherapy and rehabilitation practice on the Mornington Peninsula. From our Frankston rooms we treat post-operative recovery, sports injuries, hand and upper-limb conditions, and long-standing joint and spinal pain.

Patient-centred and evidence-based, with senior physiotherapists who take the time to understand the person behind the injury. Plans are shared between physios, hand therapists, GPs and treating specialists — so follow-ups don't fall through the cracks.

Our rooms are wheelchair-accessible with on-site parking and direct public-transport access. Onsite hand therapy is provided by Kingston Hand Therapy. We also work alongside the orthopaedic surgeons at East Coast Orthopaedics next door so post-surgical recovery stays joined-up.

What we treat

Six specialisms, one coordinated team.

Six areas of physiotherapy we focus on at our Frankston rooms — from acute injuries and post-op recovery through to long-standing joint and spinal pain.

Manual therapy

Hands-on assessment and treatment to settle pain, restore movement and unlock the body's own recovery — paired with a tailored exercise plan you can do at home.

Sports rehab

Recreational and high-performance athletes across AFL, soccer, netball, basketball and athletics — accurate diagnosis and a graded path back to training and game day.

NDIS

NDIS-registered physiotherapy for participants on self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed plans — coordinated with your support team and goals.

Strength & conditioning

Progressive gym-based loading, proprioception and capacity work to rebuild strength around the injured area — the missing piece of most rehab journeys.

Post-op rehab

Pre-habilitation and post-operative rehabilitation for ACL, meniscus, knee and hip replacements, shoulder repairs and upper-limb surgery — in step with the treating surgeon.

Onsite partner

Hand therapy

Specialist hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder care delivered onsite by Kingston Hand Therapy — including custom splinting, post-fracture recovery and tendon and nerve rehab.

Our Team

One coordinated team.

Every physiotherapist on the ECO Physio team brings deep clinical experience to the practice — collaborating with each other, with onsite hand therapy, and with the orthopaedic surgical team next door so your care stays continuous. Behind the scenes, our reception team keeps every appointment, referral and piece of paperwork running smoothly.

A team built around your recovery

ECO Physiotherapy is a group of highly trained, experienced physios who have come together to optimise patient outcomes. We bring our collective expertise to every patient — driven by a passion for orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation, and a desire to enhance recovery and maximise function.

Conditions we treat

Pre & post-surgical rehab

Complete care from diagnosis through hospital stay, discharge and return to function — with the rehab team in step with the treating surgeon at every stage.

Sports injuries

Extensive experience with recreational and high-performance athletes across AFL, soccer, basketball, cricket and athletics — accurate diagnosis and evidence-based treatment to expedite a safe return to sport.

Back & neck pain

Assess, diagnose and treat the cause of spinal pain. Through education and exercise, most patients reduce pain, minimise recurrence and become independent of ongoing therapy.

Kingston Hand Therapy

Accredited Hand Therapists, onsite

ECO Hand Therapy is delivered onsite at the Frankston rooms by Kingston Hand Therapy. Tom and Dave are both Accredited Hand Therapists awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association — recognised as expert in hand and upper-limb rehabilitation, with advanced postgraduate upper-limb training.

Gradual wearing of cartilage that causes joint deterioration. Tailored programs to protect joints, manage pain and preserve function from the fourth decade onward.

Fees & Billing

Clear, upfront physio fees.

Two simple appointment types. Pay at the time of your visit and claim through your private health fund where applicable.

Initial appointment

$135

45 mins

First visit with one of our physiotherapists — your story, examination, working diagnosis and a clear plan together. Allow 45 minutes.

Standard appointment

$105

30 mins

Follow-up sessions for hands-on treatment, exercise progressions and check-ins as you move through your rehab plan.

ECO Physio is a private specialist physiotherapy practice and is not a bulk-billing clinic. Payment is due at the time of your appointment.

Most patients with extras cover can claim a rebate through their private health fund — we process HICAPS on the spot, so you only pay the gap. We're also registered to see NDIS participants on self-managed and plan-managed plans, and DVA referrals are welcome.

Workers' compensation, TAC and EPC (Medicare team-care) referrals are accepted — please bring your referral and claim details to your first visit so reception can confirm cover.

Patient stories

What patients say.

Stories from patients of the ECO Physio team — post-op recoveries, sports comebacks, persistent pain finally settled, and steady progress through hand therapy and NDIS plans.

Coming back from my ACL reconstruction was daunting, and I'd had a few false starts before I found ECO Physio. Pat mapped out exactly what each phase looked like and held me to it — knees-over-toes work, hops, then proper running again. Eight months in I ran my first parkrun without even thinking about my knee. The hands-on work in the early sessions made a huge difference.

Sarah M.

Post-op ACL rehab

I broke my wrist on a building site and was worried I'd never get back to working with tools. The team at Kingston Hand Therapy made me a custom splint, walked me through every stage of the rehab and pushed me when I needed pushing. Six months on I'm back on the tools and my grip is stronger than before the fracture.

James T.

Hand therapy · wrist fracture

I'd put up with back pain for years and just assumed it was part of sitting at a desk. Brendan took the time to actually figure out what was driving it instead of just rubbing it for half an hour. The exercises were simple but they worked. First time in a decade I've made it through a full week without painkillers.

Linda V.

Persistent back pain

After my hip replacement I was nervous about losing the independence I'd worked hard for. The physios talked me through every milestone, gave me sensible homework I could actually do, and never once made me feel rushed. I'm back gardening, walking the dog and chasing grandkids around — better than I was before the surgery.

Margaret R.

Post-op hip replacement

Tore my meniscus playing local soccer and was told I'd be out for a season minimum. Taylor structured the rehab around getting me back to game-day fitness and didn't cut corners. The strength work in the gym was the part I'd never properly done before, and it made the difference. Played a full ninety minutes last weekend.

Tom S.

Sports rehab · return to soccer

ECO Physio took me on through the NDIS after my stroke, and the difference in twelve months has been life-changing. They worked with my OT, my GP and my family so the program actually made sense for my real life. Patient, kind, and never gave up on me — even when I felt like giving up on myself.
